The demand for African talent has never been higher, and the ever-growing economies of the continent are calling for the senior leadership skills of the African diaspora to return home. In a recent survey entitled ‘Attracting and Retaining Executive Talent in Africa’, Russell Reynolds Associates established that the diaspora’s talent pool is perceived as vital to the continent’s growth. Focusing on senior executives in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa, the survey examined the need for diaspora skills, the challenges of drawing and holding African talent, and the advantages of developing local talent.
