The 10 most in-demand skills of 2019
As advancements in technology continue to transform the world of work, the type of skills being sought by employers across the globe is evolving significantly. According to analysis from networking site LinkedIn, 2019’s employers are looking for a combination of both hard and soft skills.

Fifty seven percent of the senior leaders polled in the survey view soft skills as being much more important when seeking an ideal candidate.

Creativity topped the list of the most sought-after soft skills followed by Persuasion, Collaboration, Adaptability and Time Management.

“The rise of AI is only making soft skills increasingly important, as they are precisely the type of skills robots can’t automate,” said LinkedIn Learning Editor, Paul Petrone.

Angel Jones, CEO of Homecoming Revolution echoes these sentiments, “Despite millions of jobs under threat of being displaced by automation, the one thing that cannot be replaced is an employee’s ability to think outside the box and to drive innovative solutions.”

Cloud Computing topped the list of the most in-demand hard skills followed by Artificial Intelligence, Analytical Reasoning, People Management and UX Design.

“These skills are a reflection of the world of work’s significant shift towards digital”, continues Angel.

“The LinkedIn report highlights the importance of today’s employees possessing both technical and human skills in order to adapt and thrive in a constantly evolving workplace,” she concludes.
